Here’s another reason to be grateful for the Internet. I magically found the very cool Christina Morassi by the time she was starting a 30 day experiment inspired by The Big Leap, by Gay Hendricks. She is posting a video every day as she is trying to live in her Zone of Genius for a month. I haven’t read the book yet, but she explained that the author talks about 4 Zones: Incompetence, Competence, Excellence and… Genius! While most people are living in the first 3, the challenge is to get to our Zone of Genius, and that’s what the Big Leap is about.
She is in her 20th day of Genius, and so far she has got me thinking about stuff like what my real essence is and the importance of knowing our very own strengths, unique abilities, true passions and even what we feel arrogant about. This last one, I must confess, excited me the most because it was totally unexpected. I didn’t think of arrogance as a positive quality until now, because I suddenly understand it as awareness. And there’s no happier event than being aware of our own greatness, don’t you think? And they take it even further by committing to potentialize that power and live in nothing less than Genius Zone! Fascinating.
While I get the book, let me brag and share what I’m arrogant about. If my Zone of Genius could be a place, it would be a classroom. Teaching is what I love to do the most, it doesn’t feel like work (and probably my dancing doesn’t make it look like work either) and “produces the highest ratio of abundance and satisfaction to amount of time spent”, to put it in Hendricks’ terms. Somehow it’s where all of me comes out and tries to reach those fellow souls with each and every sense I’ve got.
The word “commitment” never made more sense. Are we really willing to embrace our Genius and live in it forevermore?
Check out Christina’s videos at www.christinamorassi.com, she’s truly inspiring and fun. What is your unique ability? What do you love to do the most? What produces the highest ratio of abundance per time spent? What work do you do that doesn’t seem like work?

Wow, Diana… Thank you for your beautiful post!!! You’ve summarized it so well.
I’m so glad to have you on board, and can’t wait to hear more about your Genius!!!! (I want to hear more about teaching & dancing…
Well Diana, I was visiting your website once again because I am having some “existential conflicts” (I suffer of those once in a while) and I thought about your writing and how much I like it and that it would probably make me feel better. And then I found this blog of Christina’s work and I am enjoying watching her and learning about our endless possibilities. Her soothing voice helps already on feeling calmer and more in peace. I am going to keep watching…
Your comment means so much to me.
I think we all go through those phases, they allow us to grow and improve ourselves. Now, if you need some inspiration, Christina Morassi is the right person to listen to. I personally loved the 30 Days of Genius experiment, it helped me put some things into perspective while having fun watching her. She’s cool!
